“I finally have some concrete information about San Marcos. I spoke with Doña Carmen a few minutes ago about the situation
There are 5 men and women who have a difficult situation at this time, they and their families are not currently living in their houses since there is too much mud and rocks inside, but we are grateful that they were able to get out of their homes in time and that no lives were lost
They are now living with other family members that have offered them shelter while they begin the process of clearing up their homes which they will return to but they have lost everything that was inside the homes.
Doña Carmen said that these families need children’s clothing, corn, beans, water, sugar, atoles and cooking utensils
The other women in the San Marcos group are not suffering as much, however they are asking for help in the form of corn and beans, since there is currently no food in the whole community to eat.
In these moments I am creating a list of the necessities in order to bring them to the community and I will share this list with you a little later.
The plan is to also visit San Marcos on Monday
I also spoke with Don Diego a few minutes ago and in 2 hours he will send me a list of the artisans who have lost everything and of course their needs.
As soon as he sends this list, I will work with this and will send you the information he sends. For now he has informed me that there are 6 families that are left with nothing. Each family is comprised of 7 to 8 family members”
