You can tell everyone in your next trip that your luggage tag was handcrafted by talented indigenous artisans from the small community of Chixot located near Comalapa in the central highlands of Guatemala. These artisans are paid a fair wage for their work and work in safe conditions, most out of their own homes! The Chixot group is comprised of 11 individuals, mostly women and some men who are excellent sewers and take on some of MayaWorks most difficult projects. The Chixot artisans  do all of the sewing and construction on the tag and use a recycled huipil from the Todos Santos region to create the unique design. They are so happy to be provided with this work and glad to offer you their carefully crafted products!
