Santiago is situated on the shores of one os the most beautiful lakes in the world, Lake Atitlán. About 30 hardworking indigenous Guatemalan artisans work hanscrafting beaded jewelry, Christmas ornaments, and personal accessories. Our fair trade Christmas ornaments are a great source of work for Maya artisans allowing them to provide nutricious food for their families and send their children to school with the income they earn. Artisans from Santiago Atitlán are the only MayaWorks artisans that speak the indigenous language, Tzutujil.
