Our hand-woven fair trade tallit is handmade by 8 artisans from the Tzanjuyu group who live in the town of San Juan Comalapa in the central highlands of Guatemala. The artisans of Tzanjuyu are very skilled weavers and sewers. They've worked together for many years and are always eager to learn new skills. Located on the shores of Lake Atitlan in San Marcos La Laguna, a group of 50 artisans work together to create the hand-crocheted kippah that comes included in our stunning handmade fair trade tallit set. MayaWorks artisans craft the hand-woven tallitot and kippot with particular care because they understand how special each tallis and kippah is to the people who purchase them.
